Spring House of Berlin, MA is a residential
shelter for expectant mothers to prepare
physically, emotionally, and financially for the
birth of their children. They do this by living
and working together as a family unit, each
contributing according to their means and
abilities. They help sustain the smooth
functioning of the entire household, while
they receive training in parenting, guidance
in financial management, and security in a
homelike environment.
They also receive education in life skills,
which aims to teach each woman to become
as self-reliant as possible, while also making
known to them, the many resources and
support systems available to them in the
community. As needed, volunteers bring
residents to doctor appointments, to the
grocery store, and to work.
