BIRTHRIGHT
Birthright of Hudson-Marlborough, MA is part of the larger,
international, non-profit Birthright organization founded in
Toronto, Canada. The international operation now has
facilities throughout Canada, US, Europe, Africa, and
S. America. Locally, there are many offices in New
England, including New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Trained volunteers offer friendly support, both face to face and by phone. They also
provide maternity and baby clothes, infant supplies, pregnancy tests, telephone crisis
lines, legal advice, adoption referrals, and the like. They bring pregnant girls and women
to doctor appointments and other errands, and they help them find ways to finish their high
school diplomas.
They are interdenominational, i.e. work with people of all religions. As needed, they

SPRING HOUSE
Spring House of Berlin, MA is a residential shelter for
expectant mothers to prepare physically, emotionally
and financially for the birth of their children. They live
household. They receive training in parenting,
guidance in financial management, and security ina
homelike environment.
They also receive education in life skills, which aims
to teach each woman to become as self-reliant as
possible, while also making known to them, the many
resources and support systems available to them in
the community. As needed, volunteers bring
residents to doctor appointments, to the grocery
store, and to work.
